This is a narrow, specific recruitment, and that is exactly why it is easy to get wrong. The District Mission Management Unit (DMMU) and District Rural Development Cell (DRDC), Birbhum, West Bengal, have invited offline applications for 14 Community Resource Person (CRP) posts under the Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Pariyojana – Individual Farm Cluster (MKSP-IFC) programme of the National Rural Livelihoods Mission. But three conditions together shut out most general applicants: you must be a woman member of an NRLM Self-Help Group, you must be a resident of Birbhum district, and you must have at least 3 years’ working experience as a CRP, Meen Mitra, Van Sakhi, PMK or other community cadre under NRLM. A 12th pass without that SHG and cadre background does not qualify, however strong the rest of the application is.

There is one more condition that catches people after selection, not before it: if selected, you must resign from any post as a worker of a government organisation, NGO, ICDS, ASHA, VRP, or as a PRI member or office bearer. Do not apply while holding one of those roles and hoping the clash will sort itself out later.

The engagement is project-based, for a period of 3 years subject to availability of MKSP funds, and a CRP may be deployed to any IFC unit under the MKSP-IFC project in any block within Birbhum district, reporting to the Block Development Officer of the concerned block. The notification does not print a pay amount — it says entitlement is as per the existing order of the West Bengal State Rural Livelihoods Mission, so do not trust any salary figure quoted by anyone other than that order.

Who can apply

  • Passed the Higher Secondary Examination or an equivalent 12th-standard examination.
  • At least 3 years’ working experience as a CRP, Meen Mitra, Van Sakhi, PMK or other community cadre under NRLM, certified by the concerned Block Development Officer.
  • Age 25 to 45 years as on 1 January 2026.
  • Only women members of NRLM Self-Help Groups may apply.
  • Must be a resident of Birbhum district and a valid elector, with her name in the current electoral roll.
  • Must be willing to work in any MKSP-IFC project in Birbhum district whenever required, and to attend training or workshops within and outside the state whenever required.
  • There is no application fee.

How selection works

Selection is a written test of 90 marks plus an interview of 10 marks — 100 marks in total. The written test has 45 multiple-choice questions of 2 marks each, lasts 1 hour 30 minutes, and is based on a 10th-standard syllabus covering mathematics, English, general knowledge, NRLM-related topics and basic computer knowledge. Only candidates who qualify in the written test are called for interview, and anyone who does not appear for the interview has her candidature cancelled. No travelling or daily allowance is paid for appearing in the test or interview, and misinformation or malpractice leads to summary cancellation at any point during the project period.

How to apply — the drop-box trap

This is the part to get exactly right, because the method of submission is unusually specific:

  1. Obtain the prescribed application form from the Birbhum district portal, from any Block Office in Birbhum (NRLM Section), or from the office of the Additional District Mission Director, DMMU and Project Director, DRDC, Suri. Applications in any other format are not accepted.
  2. Attach proof of age (birth certificate or Madhyamik or equivalent admit card), proof of residence (Aadhaar or EPIC), your Higher Secondary marksheet or certificate, and the BDO’s 3-year experience certificate.
  3. Submit the form in the drop box at the Office of the Additional District Mission Director, DMMU and PD, DRDC, DRDC Office, 1st Floor, Suri, Birbhum.
  4. Submit between 11.00 AM and 5.00 PM on any working day from 29 October 2026 to 17 November 2026.

Note what that means in practice: posting the form is not the method described, and turning up outside those hours, or on a holiday, will not work. The last date is 17 November 2026, and the window is working days only. If you are travelling to Suri, go early in the window — a form dropped in on the last afternoon leaves no chance to correct a missing enclosure.
