Thirty-two contract posts under the National Health Mission, one demand draft per post, and an envelope rule that can get your application rejected unopened. The District Health Society (Zila Swasthya Samiti), Ramgarh, Jharkhand, has advertised 32 vacancies under Advertisement No. 01/2026(DHS), dated 5 November 2026, across eight health programmes — NUHM, NBSU, NCD, RNTCP, NHM, RBSK, MTC and SNCU. Applications go only by registered post or speed post to the Civil Surgeon, and must reach by 5:00 PM on 27 November 2026.

Two conditions narrow the field before anything else: only local residents of Jharkhand can apply, and every post carries its own fee — Rs. 400 for General/OBC and Rs. 200 for SC/ST — paid by demand draft. If you apply for two posts, you send two separate applications and two drafts.

Who can apply — the age and residence rules

The minimum age is 21 years for every post. Age is counted as on 5 November 2026 — the date of the advertisement, not the last date — so check your age against that date, not 27 November. Maximum age by category:

Category Maximum age Maximum age (PwD)
Unreserved 35 45
Backward Class / Extremely Backward Class 37 47
Women (UR) / EWS / BC / EBC 38 48
SC / ST (men and women) 40 50
EWS 35 45

Only local residents of Jharkhand are eligible, and the local resident certificate must be the one issued online at the Circle Officer or Sub-Divisional Officer level. Out-of-state candidates cannot apply for any of these 32 posts, however strong their qualification is.

Qualification — a short guide to the main posts

Qualification varies by post, from 10+2 with a GNM or ANM course to a postgraduate degree. The main ones:

  • Staff Nurse (GNM) / GNM (SNCU): 10+2 with a 3-year GNM and Midwifery course from a government-recognised institution, registered under the Jharkhand State Nursing Council. SNCU GNM also needs at least 2 years of hospital experience.
  • Pharmacist: Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised institute, registered under the Jharkhand State Pharmacy Council, with computer proficiency in MS Office and internet.
  • ANM (Backlog): 10+2 with an ANM course from a government-recognised institution approved by the Indian Nursing Council, registered under the Jharkhand State Nursing Council.
  • Clinical Psychologist: Postgraduate degree in psychology or applied psychology with an M.Phil in medical and social psychology or mental health and social psychology, after a full-time two-year course with supervised clinical training recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India.
  • Psychiatric Nurse: B.Sc Nursing or equivalent with at least 2 years’ experience in a psychiatry or mental health institution.
  • Block Data Manager: Graduation in any discipline with a 1-year diploma in computer application, or BCA / B.Sc (IT) / B.Sc (Computer Science) / DOEACC ‘A’ level, plus 2 years of relevant experience and English typing at 40 words per minute.
  • STS / STLS / TBHV: Bachelor’s degree or a recognised sanitary inspector’s course, a certificate course in computer operation of at least two months, and a permanent two-wheeler driving licence — the licence is an essential condition, not a preference.
  • Lab Technician: Intermediate (10+2) with a diploma or certificate course in Medical Laboratory Technology and one year of experience in NTEP or sputum smear microscopy.

For the full post-wise eligibility, read the official notification — the table above is a summary, and the notice is the final word.

The envelope rule — the trap that rejects applications unopened

The notice is unusually blunt about this: the envelope must show the advertisement number (01/2026(DHS)), the name of the post, and the name of the programme (NUHM, NBSU, NCD, RNTCP, NHM, RBSK, MTC or SNCU). If any of these is missing, the application will not be opened. Write all three on the envelope before you post it.

Three more traps to avoid:

  1. One application per post. Applying for two posts means two separate applications, each with its own demand draft. One form covering two posts will not work.
  2. The fee is by demand draft only. The draft must be in favour of “District Health Society, Ramgarh”, for Rs. 400 (General/OBC) or Rs. 200 (SC/ST) per post. There is no online fee payment.
  3. An indemnity bond is compulsory. The application must include a bond stating that you will not claim regular appointment, plus a plain envelope with a Rs. 25 postage stamp bearing your correspondence address.

How to apply

  1. Fill the prescribed application form printed at the end of the official notice.
  2. Attach self-attested copies of mark sheets and certificates, residential and caste certificates, matriculation certificate as proof of date of birth, two self-attested passport-size photographs, the demand draft, the indemnity bond, and the stamped envelope.
  3. Send it by registered post or speed post only, to Civil Surgeon cum Chief Medical Officer, (Chhattarmandu), Ramgarh – 825101.
  4. It must reach by 5:00 PM on 27 November 2026. Applications sent to any office other than the Civil Surgeon, Ramgarh, are rejected automatically.

Selection and contract terms

Shortlisted candidates go through academic and technical marks, a written test, a skill test or an interview — one or more of these, as applicable to the post. The final merit list is displayed for one week in the office of the Civil Surgeon / Deputy Commissioner, with notice-board publication announced through newspapers. The committee’s decision is final.

The engagement is on contract for one year, extendable one year at a time on the basis of annual performance and appraisal. The contract can be ended with one month’s notice or one month’s honorarium. This is not regular government employment, and the indemnity bond makes that explicit.
