DLSA Lakhisarai PLV Recruitment 2026: 100 Para Legal Volunteer Posts, Offline Form by 21 November

One hundred posts, a 10th-pass qualification, and no application fee — but this is not a salaried government job, and treating it like one is the first mistake. The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Lakhisarai, Bihar, has invited offline applications for 100 Para Legal Volunteer (PLV) posts under Advertisement No. 01/2026, dated 4 November 2026. Applications must reach by 5:00 PM on 21 November 2026, by registered post only.

A PLV works under the NALSA scheme for para legal volunteers: one year of voluntary legal-aid work, paid an honorarium of Rs. 750 per working day after evaluation of the work done. Selection is by interview. There is no written exam and no fee mentioned in the notification.

Who can apply — and who cannot

• Qualification: Minimum Matric (10th) pass, with good knowledge of writing English and Hindi.
• Age: Above 21 years as on 21 November 2026. There is no upper age limit printed in the notice.
• Residence: Must be a permanent resident of Lakhisarai district. This is a hard condition — candidates from outside the district do not qualify.
• Who is welcome: Retired employees, Self-Help Group workers, Anganwadi Sevika, NGO workers, students, teachers, doctors and senior citizens of Lakhisarai district may apply. Men and women who want to work without financial gain for weaker and deprived sections may apply. Previously selected PLVs — except advocates — may apply again.
• Who cannot apply: advocates are not eligible. If you are a practising advocate, do not send the form.

There is no reservation of posts, but all classes are to get adequate representation as per the NALSA scheme.

The pay trap — read this before you apply

The honorarium is Rs. 750 per working day, after evaluation of the work done — not a monthly salary, and not paid for days not worked. The notice states plainly that the selection of PLVs is not an appointment to a government job, and that PLVs work voluntarily, without any profit motive. The tenure is one year and may be extended, but it remains a volunteer engagement under the legal services authority, not employment.

If you are looking for a fixed monthly salary, this is not that job. If you are a retired teacher, an SHG worker, a student or a senior citizen in Lakhisarai who wants paid legal-aid work in your own district, it is a genuine opportunity — 100 posts is a large intake for one district.

How selection works

Selection is by interview at the chamber of the Chairman or Secretary, DLSA Lakhisarai. One hundred PLVs will be empanelled after the interview. Bring all original documents to the interview. No travelling allowance is paid for appearing in the interview, and the notice, format and selection process are displayed on the DLSA Lakhisarai notice board. Candidature can be cancelled at any time without notice if any information is found to be false.

Documents to enclose

• Self-attested photograph on the form.
• Copy of Aadhaar card for date of birth.
• Self-attested copies of educational and qualification certificates.
• A self-addressed envelope with a Rs. 55 postage stamp for the interview letter. This is easy to forget and it is specifically required — the interview call letter comes back in this envelope.

How to apply — registered post only

1. Fill the prescribed application form (Prapatra-Ka), printed in the official notification.
2. Attach the self-attested photograph, Aadhaar copy and self-attested copies of educational certificates.
3. Enclose the self-addressed envelope with a Rs. 55 postage stamp.
4. Send it by registered post only to:

It must be received by 21 November 2026, 5:00 PM. Applications received after that are not accepted. Note that the notice says registered post only — do not assume a hand-delivered form will be accepted.

The official notification also carries the authority’s email — dlsalakhisarai@gmail.com — but the application itself must go by registered post to the address above.
