ECHS Barrackpore Recruitment 2026: MTS, Safaiwala & Network Technician Posts, Apply Offline or by Email

Three posts. Three very different doors into a Ministry of Defence hospital setup. The ECHS Cell at Station Headquarters Barrackpore is hiring a Multi Tasking Staff member, a Safaiwala, and an IT Network Technician on contract — and here’s the part most people will miss: you can submit your application by email as a single PDF, not just by post.

That alone makes this recruitment easier than 90% of offline recruitments out there. But each post has its own qualification and a hidden experience condition, so let’s decode them one by one.

The Three Posts at a Glance

PostVacancyAgeSalary/MonthQualification
Multi Tasking Staff (MTS)0118–53₹22,6008th pass
Safaiwala0118–53₹21,800Should know reading & writing
IT Network Technician0118–53₹21,800Diploma/certificate in IT Network Computer Application

Age is counted as on 01 April 2026. Both men and women can apply. There is no application fee.

Post 1: Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) — 8th Pass Entry

The highest-paid of the three at ₹22,600/month, and the simplest eligibility: 8th pass. MTS in an ECHS polyclinic typically means assisting with day-to-day hospital support work — records movement, helping staff, general duties. If you’ve cleared 8th standard and want a defence-establishment job without a tough qualification bar, this is your post. Note the catch below about experience before you celebrate, though.

Post 2: Safaiwala — Literacy Is Enough

₹21,800/month for candidates who know reading and writing — no formal board certificate demanded. This is one of the lowest entry barriers you’ll see in any 2026 government recruitment. The work is hospital housekeeping at an ECHS polyclinic. If you can read and write and need stable monthly income, don’t overlook this one.

Post 3: IT Network Technician — Diploma Holders, Read This

₹21,800/month for a diploma or certificate in IT Network Computer Application. Polyclinics run on networked systems for patient records, billing and ECHS smart cards — that’s what you’d maintain. Here’s the twist: this post needs only 2 years of experience, less than the other two (explained next).

The Experience Catch Nobody Notices

Buried in the notice’s conditions is a line most applicants will skip — and it can disqualify you:

  • IT Network Technician: minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
  • MTS and Safaiwala: minimum 5 years of work experience

Yes, even the Safaiwala post expects 5 years of experience as per the notice. Attach an experience certificate for the relevant post, or your application is incomplete on arrival.

The Contract Reality: 1 Year (11 Months for Civilians)

Be clear-eyed about what you’re signing up for. These are contractual posts, currently for 1 year. And there’s a specific carve-out: civilian appointees will be engaged for 11 months only. This is standard ECHS practice — contracts get renewed based on performance and requirement, but the initial offer is short-term. Apply with this understanding, not with permanent-job expectations.

Where You’ll Be Posted

Appointment is proposed at ECHS polyclinics in Barrackpore, Krishnanagar and Durgapur (West Bengal). Your posting will be at one of these three locations.

How to Apply: Two Ways

Option A: By Hand or Post

  1. Fill the application form in capital letters — no cutting or overwriting.
  2. Attach self-attested photocopies of all documents (never originals).
  3. Write “Application for the post of ……” on the envelope, plus your caste/category.
  4. One envelope = one application.
  5. Send it to reach before 12.10.2026:Officer-In-Charge, Station Headquarters,
    ECHS Cell, Barrackpore – 700120 (W.B.)

Option B: By Email (Single PDF)

  1. Fill the form neatly in capital letters.
  2. Scan the form and all supporting documents clearly.
  3. Merge everything into one PDF file.
  4. Email it to shqbarrackpore@echs.gov.in before the last date.

The email option is the faster, safer route — no postal delays, no lost envelopes. Just make sure the scan is legible; a blurry PDF is as bad as a torn form.

Documents Checklist (Self-Attested Copies)

  • Aadhaar card and PAN card copies
  • 8th / 10th / 12th / graduation / diploma / degree certificates, as applicable
  • Medical / pharmacy council registration (if the post needs it)
  • PPO, discharge book and ex-serviceman ID (for ex-servicemen)
  • Experience certificate — 2 years (Technician) or 5 years (MTS/Safaiwala)
  • No-objection certificate from current employer (if employed)

For the interview stage, carry 2 passport photographs, a medical fitness certificate and all original documents to Station Headquarters, Barrackpore. Interview dates will be communicated to eligible candidates by email or mobile message. No TA/DA is paid for appearing.
