Civil Court Gumla Recruitment 2026: 17 Peon (Anusevak / Adeshpal) Posts – 10th Pass, Apply Offline by 20 November

The Civil Court, Gumla (Jharkhand) has announced direct recruitment for 17 posts of Anusevak / Adeshpal (Peon / Orderly) under Advertisement No. 01/2026. This is a regular court establishment recruitment – not a contract job – and the only qualification demanded is a 10th pass certificate. There is no application fee, applications are accepted completely offline, and the filled form must reach the Gumla court by 20 November 2026.

If you have been waiting for a Jharkhand district court opening, read the category break-up and the age calculation date carefully before anything else. Seven of the seventeen seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribe candidates, and age is not counted on the last date of application – it is counted on 15 October 2026. Both details are explained below, because both can quietly decide whether your application survives.

Vacancy Details – Category-Wise Break-Up

All 17 posts are for a single post name, divided across categories like this:

CategoryPosts
UR (Unreserved)7
SC (Scheduled Caste)1
ST (Scheduled Tribe)7
EWS2
Total17

Two things stand out in this table. First, the ST share is unusually large – 7 out of 17 seats – which reflects Gumla’s tribal-majority population; ST candidates from Jharkhand should not let this one pass. Second, the advertisement states clearly that candidates from states other than Jharkhand will not get the benefit of reservation. An outside-state candidate can apply, but will effectively compete without any reservation advantage – keep that in mind before spending on postage.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational qualification: 10th (Matric) pass. That is all – no experience, no computer certificate, no additional qualification is demanded for this post. If you have an experience certificate, attach a copy anyway (the document list includes it as an “if any” item), but its absence is not a disqualification.

Who can apply: Both male and female candidates. Candidates of every category can apply for the post, subject to the reservation rule mentioned above.

Age Limit – Counted on 15 October 2026, Not the Last Date

  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Maximum age: 35 years
  • Age calculation date: 15 October 2026
  • Relaxation: Reserved-category candidates will get upper-age relaxation as per Jharkhand Government rules.

This calculation date matters more than it looks. A candidate who turns 18 on, say, 1 November 2026 is still not eligible, because on the counting date – 15 October 2026 – he or she had not completed 18 years. The reverse also works in your favour: if you were 35 on 15 October 2026 but turn 36 before submitting the form, you remain within the limit. Check your date of birth against 15 October 2026, not against 20 November.

Application Fee

There is no application fee at all. The advertisement states it plainly. The only money you will spend is on the form, photocopies, and the ₹56 postal stamps for the self-addressed envelope mentioned in the document list.

Selection Process

As per the detailed notification, selection will be through a Screening Test followed by an Interview. Do not assume a peon post means “interview only” – a screening test is part of this process, so some basic preparation is worthwhile. Candidates will have to appear for the test/interview at their own expense; no travel allowance is paid. The short newspaper notice itself directs candidates to the detailed advertisement published in Hindustan, Ranchi edition, dated 13 October 2026 for complete information – if any detail here seems thin, that detailed notice is the authority.

Documents to Attach With the Application Form

Attach self-attested photocopies only – original certificates must not be sent with the application.

  1. Certificates of educational and professional qualifications
  2. 10th-class certificate as proof of date of birth
  3. Caste certificate (if you belong to a reserved category)
  4. Experience certificate, if any
  5. One extra passport-size photograph
  6. One self-addressed envelope (25 cm × 11 cm) with postal stamps of ₹56 affixed on it

How to Apply Offline – Step by Step

  1. Get the application form from the form sellers in your village/town, the usual source for such offline court recruitment forms.
  2. Fill the form in Hindi, in clear capital letters. Every column. The instructions demand Hindi in big, clear letters – a form filled in English or in running hand is a rejection risk.
  3. No cutting, no overwriting anywhere on the form. Made a mistake? Start on a fresh form.
  4. Attach the documents listed above – self-attested copies, no originals.
  5. One envelope, one application. Do not put two applications in a single envelope.
  6. Superscribe the envelope. On the application envelope, write the Advertisement Number, the name of the post applied for, and your category – in clear, large letters. This is compulsory, not decorative.
  7. Submit it in time. Your application must reach the following address by 20 November 2026, either in person or by registered post / speed post: To, The In-charge Judge (Prabhari Nyayadhish), Civil Court (Vyavahar Nyayalaya), Gumla, PIN – 835207 (Jharkhand)
  8. Keep the instruction sheet with yourself – the notice specifically says not to enclose it with the application.

Posting from outside Gumla? Send it several days before 20 November. The condition is that the envelope reaches the court by the last date, not that you posted it by then.
