Haryana Police SPO Recruitment 2026: 170 Special Police Officer Posts in Telecommunication Wing, Report on 5 November

The Haryana Police Telecommunication Wing, Panchkula has invited eligible candidates for the engagement of 170 Special Police Officers (SPOs) under Section 21 of the Haryana Police Act, 2007. There is no online form, no written exam and no physical test in this recruitment. Eligible candidates simply have to appear in person at their respective District Police Control Room on 5 November 2026 with the filled application form, original documents and the prescribed affidavit.

One thing must be clear right at the start — this vacancy is not open to every 12th pass candidate. It is meant only for ex-servicemen and former constables of the disbanded HSISF/HAP battalions. If you have never served in the Armed Forces, CAPFs or those battalions, this recruitment is not for you, whatever your education is.

Selected SPOs will get a fixed honorarium of Rs. 20,000 per month. The engagement is temporary — for one year or until regular appointments are made, whichever comes earlier.

Who Can Apply – Eligibility in Detail

  • Ex-servicemen of the Armed Forces
  • Ex-servicemen of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs)
  • Former Constables of the disbanded Haryana State Industrial Security Force (HSISF)
  • Former Constables of the disbanded Haryana Armed Police (HAP) Battalions

Educational Qualification

The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognised board. Education alone is not enough — the past-service condition below is equally compulsory.

The Discharge Conditions That Actually Decide Your Selection

Most job portals only write “12th pass + ex-serviceman” and stop there. The official terms carry three extra conditions, and candidates are actually rejected at the counter when these are not met:

  • Minimum 5 years of service in the Armed Forces/CAPFs is required.
  • The medical category at the time of discharge should be Category ‘A’.
  • The character certificate at discharge should be marked ‘Exemplary’ or ‘Outstanding’.
  • The candidate must not have been removed or dismissed from service on grounds of indiscipline, misconduct or medical unfitness.

So before travelling to the district control room, open your discharge book and check these three lines first. If your medical category or character grading does not match, confirm your position with the recruiting authority instead of assuming eligibility.

Preference for Telecom Experience

Because these SPOs are being engaged for the Telecommunication Wing, preference will be given to candidates experienced in operating and maintaining telecommunication equipment — especially those who served in the Signal Corps of the Armed Forces or CAPFs. If you have signal/telecom trade experience, make sure it is clearly mentioned in the form and supported by your service documents.

Age Limit

ParticularsAge
Minimum Age25 Years
Maximum Age50 Years
Age Calculated As OnDate of Advertisement

Note: Some websites are showing the age cut-off as 1 January 2026. The official terms calculate age as on the date of advertisement, so go by the official notice on this point.

Honorarium, Allowances and Other Benefits

The post carries an honorarium, not a regular pay scale, because this is a temporary engagement. The amount is deposited directly into the SPO’s bank account.

Payment / BenefitDetails
Monthly HonorariumRs. 20,000 per month
One-Time Uniform AllowanceRs. 3,000 (for two sets of uniform, shoes and other prescribed uniform articles)
TA/DA on Official TourRs. 150 per day
Casual LeaveAs applicable to Constables of Haryana Police

Important: No TA/DA is paid merely for appearing for document submission. You will travel to the district control room at your own expense.

Ex-Gratia Compensation

CircumstanceCompensation
Death in action while performing dutyRs. 10 Lakh
Permanent disability in qualifying circumstancesRs. 1 Lakh to Rs. 3 Lakh
Grave injury in qualifying circumstancesUp to Rs. 1 Lakh
Natural deathRs. 3 Lakh to the family

These benefits apply only in the circumstances and conditions prescribed in the engagement terms.

Engagement Period, Training and Posting Rules

  • The engagement is for one year or until regular appointments are made, whichever is earlier. It does not convert into a permanent police post.
  • Selected SPOs will undergo a 15-day orientation (capsule) training course to familiarise them with the working of the Telecommunication Wing.
  • SPOs will not be posted at their home police station. Preference may be given for posting in the home district, subject to availability of vacancies.
  • During emergencies, SPOs can be deployed anywhere else in Haryana for short periods.

Selection Process

There is no written examination and no physical test in this recruitment. The selection is completed through verification only:

  1. In-person submission of application and documents
  2. Scrutiny of eligibility and service records
  3. Document Verification
  4. Character and Antecedent Verification by the district police authority
  5. Medical Examination
  6. Issue of appointment/engagement letter to selected candidates

Documents Required on 5 November 2026

Carry the original documents along with one set of attested photocopies:

  • Duly filled prescribed application form
  • Prescribed affidavit (on legal stamp paper, as per the official format)
  • 04 recent passport-size colour photographs
  • 10th and 12th certificates/marksheets
  • Proof of date of birth
  • Discharge book and complete service records (Armed Forces/CAPF/HSISF/HAP, as applicable)
  • Pension book, where applicable
  • Medical category certificate at discharge
  • Character certificate (Exemplary/Outstanding)
  • Aadhaar Card
  • PAN Card
  • Bank passbook photocopy (honorarium is credited to this account)
  • Category certificate, if applicable

The affidavit covers declarations about your permanent residence, ex-serviceman/HSISF-HAP status, no pending criminal case, no earlier SPO appointment in another Haryana district, and willingness to serve under department rules. Get it prepared in advance — arranging stamp paper and attestation on the morning of 5 November is where many candidates lose time.

How to Apply – Step by Step

  1. Open the Haryana Police Public Notice page on the official website and find the notice titled “Engagement of 170 SPOs in Haryana Police Telecommunication Wing”.
  2. Read the press release, eligibility conditions and terms carefully before filling anything.
  3. Download and print the prescribed application form and affidavit proforma.
  4. Fill the form neatly in BLOCK CAPITAL LETTERS and paste your recent colour passport photograph.
  5. Get the affidavit executed on legal stamp paper as per the prescribed format.
  6. Attach one set of self-attested/attested photocopies of all documents listed above.
  7. On 5 November 2026, appear in person at your District Police Control Room with the completed form, original documents, affidavit and 04 passport-size colour photographs.
  8. Submit everything as directed by the authority present there. Appearing personally is compulsory — forms sent by post or through another person will not be entertained.

Two Confusions You Should Know About

170 posts or 400 posts? The latest press release clearly announces 170 SPOs, but the terms, application form and affidavit attached with the same notice still mention 400 SPOs — these appear to be papers carried over from the earlier engagement. Apply for this notice as a 170-post engagement, and if the control room staff give any clarification on the spot, follow that.

The separate Gurugram notice: A different SPO notice for 33 posts under the Police Commissionerate, Gurugram is also running, with form submission from 19 to 23 October 2026 at Gurugram itself. That is a separate engagement — do not mix its dates, venue or address with this Telecommunication Wing recruitment.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Assuming every 12th pass youth can apply — freshers are not eligible at all.
  • Reaching the venue without checking the medical category and character grading in the discharge book.
  • Leaving the affidavit for the last day.
  • Going to the wrong venue — for this recruitment you report to your District Police Control Room, not to Panchkula.
  • Missing the single reporting date; there is no second date or late submission.
